1. The Critical Mass

The first insight claims that every person's life is a spiritual journey and that this journey is comprised of a series of mysterious coincidences. The author writes:

"Why, for example, does a chance encounter with a certain person at a certain time often lead to advance in our careers, our relationships, our awareness of inner talent?"

Simply put, it doesn't. If we take "advances" in career to mean professionalism and the attainment of higher status in the field, then he is dead wrong. Less than 10% of the world's population are professionals, and even less are mid-high level ones. Needless to say, the use of the word "often" when referring to the frequency of career advancement is a somewhat wild miscalculation.
As for advances in relationships, again, there is no basis for such an assumption. In modern times, it's a fact that a considerable number of men and women and satisfied to simply entertain the "casual" status of a relationship, and even the more serious relationships are prolonged due to insecurity of both parties for a number of years before marriage. Their caution is understandable, as one in every three marriages ends in divorce.
Finally, his claim to our realisation of inner talent. Talent is a by product of experience or recreation. To say that a majority of people realise their inner talent, is to say that a majority of people have experience or indulge in recreation and are somehow content with their lives. Studies in depression have shown that a whopping 78% of people once they have reached the age of thirty are beginning to seriously question the choices they have made in their lives. Another 7% will have committed suicide even before then. People who are unhappy seek refuge not from recreational pursuits which they have no time for, but rather from counter-depressive medication.
The Author identifies his source for this idiotic theory as the Swiss philosopher Carl Jung, who, convinced it was a very real phenomenon, named it "synchronicity".
